System Accreditation at TUM
TUM was system-acc颅re颅dited by the Swiss Center of Accreditation and Quality Assu颅rance in Higher Edu颅cation (OAQ) on 14 May 2014, with no stipu颅lations im颅posed. The system-accreditation was renewed on 26 June 2020 and is valid through 30 September 2028. It applies to all degree programs that have passed TUM's in颅ternal quality management assessment pro颅cedures.
The acc颅re颅ditation procedure essen颅tially con颅sists of an in颅ternal self-eva颅luation followed by a se颅ries of external app颅raisals con颅ducted by an agency certified by the Acc颅re颅ditation Council.
The bench颅marks used in this pro颅cedure in颅clude the 'European Stan颅dards and Guide颅lines for Quality Assu颅rance in Higher Edu颅cation' (ESG) as well as the criteria speci颅fied by the Standing Con颅ference of the Ministers of Edu颅cation in Germany () and the .
In Bavaria, all bachelor's and master's pro颅grams are sub颅ject to acc颅re颅ditation - a pro颅vision based on Article 10 of the Bavarian Higher Education Act ().
