On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the Kunsthalle München is dedicating the exhibition Civilization to the question of how we live today and illustrates the diversity and contradictions of our civilization. In collaboration with the TUM Center for Culture and Arts, a series of lectures will be held at TUM.
The fourth and final guest lecture in the series will be given by Dr. Judith Kohlenberger, cultural and migration researcher, on the topic “Us vs. the Others: What holds us together and how we overcome division” (in Geman): The increase in social diversity is not without its tensions. Conflicts between new arrivals and those who have been here for a while seem to be increasing and fronts are hardening. But demarcation between us and “the others” does not have to lead to exclusion if belonging is developed as a counter-concept. The lecture explores the question of how we can shape coexistence, protect basic rights and promote self-effective engagement.
Admission is free of charge. Please for the event.
