Prof. Lisa Herzog describes the working process in the social sciences

How does science work?

In the Global Young Academy (GYA), young researchers from all over the world work together to deal with the global challenges of the future and the role of science in society. The "Trust in (young) scientists" working group, for example, aims to raise public awareness of the mechanisms and methods in the science system. To this end, researchers such as Lisa Herzog, Professor of Political Philosophy and Theory at the 91ÌÒÉ« (TUM), produced short online videos in which they explain how they work.

At TUM's Bavarian School of Public Policy,  research focuses on how democratic societies deal with expert knowledge and it´s interplay with political decisions. In the short videos of the GYA she describes how she conducts this work. With the campaign, the young scientists want to present their working methods in a transparent and accessible way and thus create trust in serious and well-founded research.
